Journey to the Colorado Family History Expo

I'm excited about attending the Colorado Family History Expo in Colorado Springs the end of this week (June 1-2, 2012). There will be quite a few interesting speakers and I am interested to meet other genealogists from Colorado. I am also honored to be teaching a few classes myself.

Along with attending the Expo, I'll be visiting with cousins in Denver and returning to them a few family history items and documents that I was allowed to borrow in order to photograph, and scan for the family archive.

Since I am the family genealogist of my generation and their father (my uncle) was the family genealogist of his generation, they did me the honor of allowing me to photograph and copy some important family documents before they were distributed to various different family members.  I was so very glad to have the chance to preserve copies of these documents that I can now use as sources for our family history and also pass on the photos and copies to all of the descendants.

I'm so lucky to be a member of a family that cares about preserving our shared family heritage and where different branches of the family are willing to share the information that they have with all the other descendants.
